The Tower of Green Flame

Azar stood and looked to the south where the ship had landed. The wind began to pick up around him and the sky above circled with dark clouds. Azar looked around him at the piles of ash drifting in the air and sea. He took up his staff and from it came green and red magic that twisted and zigzagged out of control. From the ash came black skeletons that were not completely bone but hard ash that crackled with green energy. Azar stepped off the rocks and the sea began to boil and steam. The green flame surrounded Azar's steps. With the magic moving the water beneath him, Azar and his skeletal figures reached the large island. On the eastern shoreline Azar walked down the coast and entered the southern jungles.
As night came, the stranded flagship and the crew started fires in the sand. They had made repairs during the day and used the scraps for fire starters. The dead crew members were barred in the sand. A few row boats left to the capital in hope of help from the other wizards. As the remaining crew now rested, dark figures emerged from the jungle and took them. Some died in the skirmish but they too were dragged into the dark jungle. None where left on the small sandbar island.
Morning arrives and the entire capital navy scours the sea and surrounding shorelines. The wizards Vridan the brown and Izohra the purple search the landing area near the ruin portal. They piece the events together with their magic of earth and lightning. They are unaware of Azar's condition, but the evidence of the shattered orb and risen bodies does not paint a good picture. Both could feel the remnants of the green fire in the ether and it's corrupting power lingered. Forbidden magic symbols that only they could see remained in the scorch marks. The power that now infected the minds of many was also beginning to trouble the two wizards. Their heads were filled with pain and their higher selves became clouded. They were forced to leave and return to the tower or risk the same infection as the others.
On the southern shore, Thraxast the gray wizard overlooked the ship and the blood stained sand. His guards could find no survivors or bodies. Thraxast raised his right hand over the ground, black and gray magic particles appeared. They circled his hand and like a magnet directed him. The magic pulled him and showed him only through his eyes the events that took place. The magic formed figures of dark shadows surrounded in a green aura. The others were that of gold in a white aura or gray in a mist like aura. Through the jungle Thraxast could see the distant broken bridge. A dark energy circled that bridge and he felt that the secrets of the green flame were hidden there. He took his leave and returned to the tower after being effected like the other two wizards, though he was far less effected than they were.
In the tower, Ithra the white and leader of the wizards, went to the chambers of Ezon the green and youngest wizard. Ithra opened the door telekinetically. The room was dark. The stained glass windows were covered. Only one small window near the top was left open. The room was cold and damp. Hanging plants and herbs covered the room. Book's were scattered around the room. Drips of water could be heard along with tick condensation on the stone walls. Ezon sat in his chair of driftwood and plant roots. Ithra used her magic to turn the chair and light the candles. Ezon held an orb that had swirling clouds of green magic that showed glimpses of near by lands effected by war and the dark magic from the gates. Ezon covered the orb in his robe, "It is dying. The Realm, we will not survive what is coming." Ithra moved his chair closer too her with quick unseen magic. Only small white and gray geometric shapes of magic could be seen around her hands and temples. She stopped it with her right hand as she leaned over him. "I have seen it too, but there are other fates. Ezon there is something that I can not see. I need your help." Ezon looked into her grey blue eyes and held his orb between them. Green and white clouds formed and shown images of the fifth wizard. "Azar, he is no longer... The first to fall. The Green Flame has him now. Eternal Life." Ithra let go of his chair and stood. "Stand Ezon you must join the others in the library. I will send Meredith and Bennu to help heal your plants. I am calling all to the library. Azar was our brother and a beloved member of our order. I will not allow this darkness to use his body for evil."
Nine of the wizards joined together in the towers library. At a great round table they discussed the events around the green flame and the absence of Azar. With the evidence and clues from the three wizards, they could understand what had happened. With the foresight and knowledge of Ezon and their leader, the wizards now knew what needed to be done. Akora, the cyan wizard of water, and Anior, the light blue wizard of ice, took responsibility. They would risk exposure to the darkness to free their brothers soul from his corrupted body or die trying together. They could not risk one of the Ten's power being used against the world.
