Part 6 (D.O.K.)

I find myself on a floor of green glass that resembles obsidian. My arms cut from sliding across the floor. The tall figure growled as he stood near the closing portal. I heard something above, hidden on the tall ceiling. Another creature descended upon me, with large bat like wings and talons. This one was feamle and she had no arms just wings. A long rat like tail wrapped around my leg and pulled me off the ground. She had thorns like that of a porcupine from her neck down her back. She had a helmet of gold and green obsidian that covered most of her face. Only her mouth was visible and she had long fangs. She placed me down before golden steps. Behind me I looked once more at her and noticed her legs where bent in reverse like the hind legs of animals.
As I turned my attention back to the steps a curved sword with jagged and rusted edges cut my chin. The blade was also made of metal that had no like in our world. This creature was a living undead, a revenant. His hair was long and tangled down to his lower back. He had a twisted crown of golden thorns. His nose was that of a skeleton. The mouth and jaw were elongated and appeared to be broken. The face was in the process of decay. A shredded cape and torn cloths covered him. The visible skin was gray and almost mummified.
A voice echoed from the shadows and all the creatures stepped away or stood at attention in silence. Reptilian feet and hands came into view on the golden steps. Torn bat wings and a slithering rat tail were next. From her neck to her hips was a bare thin membrane like skin. Down her spine and her elbows were fish scales and thorns, almost like fins. In her hands was a rusted black mace full of spikes. On each spike drips of melted gold fell. She had a crown of snakes and tentacles. Her face was the only human part of her.
She asked me what I wanted most in my life as she circled me. I told her knowledge. She laughed and told me that for my efforts she would grant me that gift. The very thing that I've sought my entire life. She locked eyes with me and what I saw in those dark nebula eyes was indescribable.
All at once every question I had was answered. I lived a thousand lives throughout time and space. I saw the history of our world. I found the truth of these dark gods and all their secrets. I have found things they fear at the bottom of the Endless Lake.
Once I gained some control and write down my experiences down here. The knowledge continues to fill my mind. I laughed to myself, what a coincidence to be here, an honor to go in such a way. -Larkin, May, 1823.
