Part 3 (D.O.K.)

Part 3 (D.O.K.)
Despair of Knowledge Part 3

The sea is perilous now. During our short travel across the straight we lost three crew members, one from our group. Here on the western tip of Erweathleon we have discovered the same black goo. A trible village has suffered the same affliction as those in northern Minuit, however the inhabitants are less affected. Still the nearby habitat suffers, though only within a mile from the shoreline.

We traveled to the capital of Belivea to see if they too suffer the same curse. When we arrived our worries subsided. The capital is not affected and we rested a few days. The snows fall now but once the weather let's up we will head to a nearby monolith. - Larkin, Nov. 15, 1822

It's now the new year and we have traveled north of Erax. Our leads have brought us to another ruin city. This one high in snow covered mountains. The group works hard but work is slow in these conditions.

We have made great discoveries here. These ruins tell of a race of small humanoids, along with what I can only describe as dragon like hybrids. - Larkin, Jan. 12-25, 1823

Smoke rises over the mountains and an orange glow illuminates the night sky. We are not done fully excavating the sight but we all feel that the flames in the distance are too large to be a coincidence.

We left a first light. The tribal village on the icy cliffs was abandoned with out signs of struggle. The tribe was to small to attack the town of Erax and their was no tracks leading anywhere out of the village. In fact our foot prints where the only ones written in the snow.

As we reached the overlook of the town, ash fell upon us and smoke rose high into the sky. The town was burnt and in ruin. A few flames still remained but we witnessed the aftermath of the event.

Inside all where dead, animals and townsfolk alike. None were spared. However, most of the inhabitants that once called this place home were not found. All bodies showed evidence of both blade and claws. Inside the palace was dozens of mutilated guards and warriors. Still our of all the dead none were from the enemies forces. In the throne room was only the Duke. He was decapitated at the center of the room. Only the smell of brimstone remained. - Larkin, Mar. 23, 1823.
